Character: Konoha's Yondaime (aka The Yellow Flash of Konoha) from NARUTO
Tools: Mechanical Pencil (for the sketch basis) then Pen Tablet with Photoshop.




It's my second fanart inspired by 's great Yondaime/Kakashi fanfic: "Hours Before Dawn".

With my internet connection still gone, I had some time on my hands and I wanted to see if I was able draw the Yondaime version, as well. *gulps* In all honesty, I wasn't so sure I could draw him (my previous sketches of him were not too satisfying).


I had chap. 26 (Sea of Tranquillity) of the fanfic in mind when drawing this one even if it's not a descriptive illustration of the scene itself.
When I read it, said chapter really captivated and thrilled me (I thought Bimbomushi's description of the angry Yondaime was quite striking) and I tried here to convey a little bit of the tension and energy of this very scene. I really hope I haven't made way too many mistakes with my interpretation and ended up betraying the spirit of the fic though...(T__T)

Technically, I used the same method of work and color palette as for my Kakashi fanart even if it turned out much more detailed (and darker) here.
I guess it shows how much I enjoyed working on this piece: for once, I never got bored or blocked for lack of inspiration. It all ran fast and steady and I was just HYPER most of the time (to the point I couldn't sleep at night because it was all I had on my mind! +_+).

And it has been so hard for me to draw lately that, for finally being able to really enjoy drawing again makes me feel all the more grateful to my muse, Bimbomushi.
